What is Music Therapy?
Music Therapy aims to use a variety of motivating, music-based activities for purposeful, therapeutic use. It's a research based practice that has been effectively used with children on the autism spectrum. Grace Thompson, from the University of Melbourne, recently completed research on 'Family-Centered Music Therapy in the Home Environment: Promoting Interpersonal Engagement between Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Their Parents'. Learn more about Music Therapy by listening to a recorded interview on Triple R radio with Tanya McKenna and find the link to the abstract of Grace's research here.
