Autism redefined from 'limited' to 'limitless'.

I attended the official launch of the 'I Can Network' last night. The 'I Can Network' is changing the way everyone perceives Autism from one that focuses on the deficits to one that is centred on the unique and amazing capabilities of those individuals.  Their programs aim to educate and inspire,  starting with primary schools where they deliver the 'imagination club' for all kids, not just those on the spectrum.

There was a interesting story from one of the speakers last night who wasn't diagnosed with ASD until he was in his 30's. He felt this amazing sense of relief after the diagnosis as it put into context his uniqueness and special abilities and explained why he wasn't like other kids. How many of us have felt this way!
